THE HEALTHY HOME REMODEL PROCESS
Most remodels change how your home looks. Ours changes how it feels to live in.
We assess what your home is actually doing to your body — the air, the moisture, the water, the light — then redesign and rebuild around the findings. One team diagnoses the problem and fixes it, and proves the fix when we're done.
The healthy-building world is full of consultants who will certify your home and contractors who will renovate it — but rarely the same people. The consultant hands you a report and leaves. The contractor builds to a plan no one verified against your health. Things fall through the gap between them.
Sage Co. closes that gap. The same standard that guides our assessment guides our build, and we measure the result against where we started. That continuity — diagnosis, design, build, and verification under one roof.
How a Sage Co. remodel works
Five phases. Each one ends with something you can see, and nothing moves forward until the last step is sound.
PHASE 01
Assess — establish the baseline
We begin with a multi-day diagnostic period. We measure the home as a set of biological inputs. We look for the chemistry of the air, the migration of moisture through your walls, and the electromagnetic load of the rooms where you sleep. We find out what is actually happening in your space.
PHASE 02
Diagnose & prioritize
The data becomes a plan. We separate what is merely old or out-of-date from what is biologically significant. We triage the findings, focusing first on the most impactful interventions—usually the sleep environment, air filtration, and moisture mitigation.
PHASE 03
Design & specify
We select materials and finishes that meet the Sage Co. Standard. This goes beyond looking at labels; we verify technical specifications for off-gassing and VOC content. We design the mechanical systems—ventilation, filtration, and lighting—that will govern the internal climate of your home.
PHASE 04
Build
Our build team operates on the findings of our assessments. We apply strict containment protocols to keep construction dust and contaminants away from your living spaces. We build to the plan, ensuring that every seal, every layer of insulation, and every wire is installed to protect the health of the occupants.
PHASE 05
Verify
A Sage Co. project is only finished once we have measured the result against our baseline. We perform a final assessment of air quality, moisture, and VOCs to prove the work was done to standard. We don't guess if the home is healthy; we verify it.
What makes this an industry-leading process
Our approach reflects the consensus of the people who study this: the EPA identifies indoor air as a leading environmental health risk and ventilation as one of the most effective responses, and the World Health Organization points to keeping a home dry as the single most important defense against mold-related illness and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). We build to that evidence — and we grade honestly, never overselling what the science can't yet support.
Your home should heal you — not harm you.
If your home has felt off in ways you can't quite name — poor sleep, stale air, a room that never feels right — the answer is usually measurable. Let's find out what's actually happening, and fix it properly.
